Winds of Change Fan Flame Retardant Alternatives Development

In April, the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced it was putting 20 flame retardant chemicals, including five used heavily in plastics, under their regulatory microscope for a closer look at possible environmental impacts. TBB,TBPH, TCEP, TDCPP and HBCD are the common abbreviations for these chemicals used in polyurethane foam products including furniture and carpet padding, and building insulation comprised of expanded and extruded polystyrene.
