Chicago, IL — Plastics Color Corporation, a global leader in color concentrates, functional additives, and custom polymer masterbatches for the plastics industry, announced they have renewed their ISO 17025 accreditation — the competence of testing and calibration laboratories, in both their organization and their management of quality.
Issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the ISO 17025 accreditation validates a lab’s methods, technicians and equipment. The accreditation assures the lab is compliant to ASTM methods and provides continued technical competence.
Jennifer Presnell, Plastics Color Corporate Quality Systems and Regulatory Affairs Manager, noted the importance of renewing the ISO 17025 accreditation, “This accreditation lets our customers know that we are both compliant to the standards and, more importantly, we understand the process and reasoning behind the regulations.”
ISO 17025 must be renewed every two years and the accreditation process is not easy to obtain or maintain.
Presnell explains, “ISO 17025 accreditation is known as one of the industry’s most rigorous and demanding accreditations to receive. We committed to this process 6 years ago with our initial accreditation, and we are proud to have not one, but two ISO 17025 accredited labs to better service our customers. That alone is quite the accomplishment. Many of our competitors have yet to attempt to receive this accreditation because of the strict guidelines that govern this process.”
